WORLD FIRST!
Reeds for clarinet and saxohpone mouthpieces

Together with the clarinet player and reed expert Johannes Sulik, a student of the legendary professor Klein (Cologne) and a teacher at the music academy in Jugenheim, we have designed special reeds for our mouthpieces, thus taking account of the increased demand for high-quality reeds, which can also be used for mouthpieces of other markes. As we attach particular importance to precision and consistent quality in our mouthpieces, we make these reeds by hand to the same standards of accuracy and care.

We only use reed canes of the highest quality that are organically grown in the South of France, where they are harvested according to the moon's phases. They are not chemically treated, nor do they contain any additives, and are carefully selected and tested. As the canes are of exceptional quality, the reeds are particularly long-wearing, as has been shown in numerous tests carried out by musicians.
The reeds produce plenty of harmonics, feature an easy response, possess good characteristics in terms of tone and vibration and are well suited for both beginners and professionals.

The response received from around the world so far is proof of this claim.

The reeds are currently available in a German and Boehm design as well as for alto saxophone. Further designs are in preparation. Available sizes are 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5.

HEAVEN - a new material that truly deserves its name!

One of the various results of our research on various materials is coloured designs, some of them with glittering metallic additions. These mouthpieces soon became popular among musicians of any age and style. After all, they not only look interesting, but also feature excellent sound characteristics.

This development found its culmination in “Heaven”, a transparent light blue material with metallic components that bears its name with good reason, due not only to its colour, but also to its “heavenly” sound. Compared to the traditional black designs, our “Heaven” models are easier to play, have plenty of volume and a fluid tone with a very quick response. We use this material for both clarinet and saxophone mouthpieces. Two models of alto saxophone mouthpiece are available: the “Classic” model with a traditional, slightly concave chamber, and the “Jazz” model with a step inside made of this new material. Both types are offered with various tables, from very narrow to very wide depending on the response or sound desired. A very special feature of both designs is a metal ring on the shaft. Some selected models of our tenor saxophone mouthpieces from the “Jazz'” series are also available with a metal ring, as are the most popular German clarinet mouthpieces made of this material.

Not all sizes are available yet. Please contact us to find out, whether the mouthpiece of your choice is already in stock.

WORLD FIRST! - Wooden mouthpieces for clarinets

The use of wood in clarinet mouthpieces has a long tradition and is considered by many clarinet players both conservative and modern to be the ultimate material. Similarly to the material used in the body of the instrument itself, it is associated with purity of sound, depth of tone and homogenity. Why are they so rarely found on the market, then? The reason is that all these positive qualities have to be bought at the price of the instability of natural wood wooden mouthpieces tend to warp.

We are known for our high-precision acrylic mouthpieces; and now we have succeeded in squaring the circle. Using wood chips and a bonding medium we have produced a material that combines the parameters of dimensional accuracy and wooden sound. Like all our other models, these new mouthpieces are manufactured with the same guarantee for the table sizes.

These mouthpieces made of the new material have the typical characteristics of wooden mouthpieces:

-sonority
-lively sound
-rich colour
-very rapid response without the risk of table warping.

For the present, the following models are available for the Boehm clarinet, optionally with or without a metal ring:
JP5, JP6, JP7, JP8
RCR.3, RCR.5, RCR.6
